Redwood gives you legendary durability that holds up to the elements with natural beauty. You can keep the surface color looking like new with a finish that accentuates the character of the wood, or choose the no-maintenance option and let your redwood age gracefully, taking on a distinct gray-weathered look over time.
For a long-lasting, warm red appearance, just apply a finish and keep your redwood clean. Redwood’s unique cell structure lets it hold a finish better than other woods, so simply refinishing your redwood every few years can keep it looking like new. Redwood won’t stain like composites and plastics so you don’t have to worry about barbecue grease or red wine, and you can always restore faded redwood to its original color.
Redwood gives you years of care-free performance with heartwood that is distinctively elegant and naturally resistant to insects and decay. Year after year, redwood beauty endures.

Clear grade redwood (sometimes known as Aye Grade), Heart B and B Grade redwood are available in mixed grain. Mixed grain orders include a combination of flat grain and vertical grain redwood boards. We offer Construction Heart/Select exposed which is a high-end Construction Heart redwood grade that has fewer loose knots and higher quality edge knots. This grade has a better appearance and will perform better when exposed to the weather as compared to the standard Construction Heart grade. Red cedar is a hearty and beautiful siding material. In its natural state, the color range of cedar siding is from honey brown to deep cinnamon red. As cedar ages with the seasons, it transforms into a natural silvery gray. Naturally resilient, cedar siding stands up to all weather conditions, and is also resistant to pests and to decay. Traditional cedar siding in bevel or channel varieties allows you to transform your exterior by way of rich tones and textured grain patterns. For a personal quote call 866-972-7301 or email us and we’ll show you how quality cedar siding doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg.
Be wary of products called: “U-grade”, “downgrade”, “#3common”, “customer select”, “rustic grade” or “discounted”. What this really means is you are purchasing a cast-off product for a discounted price. In the end you will have to purchase 30% more than needed to cover the same surface area. So much for savings! And, the price for this “discounted” wood is not actually a savings at all, but the market price for inferior, downgraded wood.
Knotty cedar presents a more rustic appearance and is typically supplied green (unseasoned) in the appearance and structural grades. When required, seasoning is achieved by air-drying except for grades of Light Framing and Structural Joists and Planks which are available kiln-dried.

Channel siding is a popular type of lap siding and is used whenever a rustic appearance is desired. A versatile siding, it can be installed vertically, horizontally or diagonally. In channel siding the profile of each board partially overlaps that of the board next to it creating a channel that gives shadow line effects, provides excellent weather protection and allows for dimensional movement.
If you live in the garden state and are looking for some quality cedar siding, or even redwood siding for that matter, send us an email and we’ll quote you on the highest grade available in both cedar and redwood. Remember, the best cedar and redwood siding is produced off the west coast of the U.S. and Canada. The cheaper version of cedar is called inland red cedar and tends to be very knotty compared to the western coastal variety. Check out Lumber Out West for all your specialty lumber needs.
